Presented by the Halton FASD Resource Team
This awareness session provides an introduction to Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and highlights why this is such an important topic for all communities. Participants will learn about the prevalence of FASD in their community, how prenatal alcohol exposure impacts development, how FASD is diagnosed, and the number one protective factor in supporting individuals for positive outcomes. This awareness session is not a substitute for FASD training, but it provides a great overview and often inspires participants to seek out more learning about the topic. This presentation is also a great refresher for individuals who have completed the Halton two-day FASD training.
